Dear Reader:

We’re all set. We’re just a day away from the city’s recognition of Men’s Health Month. This acknowledgement is so important. We are not standing on ceremony. Men’s health is important. The future of this and every community depends on the health of its people. Men must lead the charge and be at the front of the battle.

One year ago, at the urging of Brain Brawn & Body, the city of Milwaukee proclaimed June, Men’s Health Month. As a result, Milwaukee has taken on a leadership position in the quest to make men’s health a critical component of the nation’s overall health agenda.

On June 25, Brain Brawn & Body will host the first Men’s Health Symposium where we will examine those health issues that disproportionately plague African American men. We will identify ways to close the disparity gap that exists in healthcare provision while raising awareness among African American men who can do more to improve their own condition.

But first things first…join us June 10, at 11:30 am in the City Hall Rotunda for a momentous occasion. Mayor Barrett will present a proclamation. He and Commissioner Bevan Baker will deliver important messages about men’s health. We’ll hear from our wonderful partner, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare and Dr. Tito Izzard of Milwaukee Health Services, among others.

For subscribers outside of our fair city we invite you to join us in spirit and solidarity by taking a moment at 11:30 to think about men’s health and what you can do to make things better. Maybe its just signing up someone to be a subscriber, maybe it’s as simple as telling a friend about this wonderful website. Whatever you do, we appreciate you.

It is our belief that if men know better they’ll do better and raising awareness is the mission at Brain Brawn & Body. We provide the information, free of charge, all you have to do is avail yourself. Not much to ask to save a life.

More health information is available at Brain Brawn & Body and find out about other healthy events on Healthy Happenings

I invite you to read, learn, enjoy!
